We are seeking caring individuals to provide individualized academic and behavioral support to designated students with complex emotional and behavioral needs at our Media, PA location. Under the direction of a certificated teacher or case manager, this position assists in implementing educational and behavior intervention plans, ensures the student’s safety and engagement in various settings, and fosters independence and appropriate social-emotional development. Employees in this classification may support the student in the classroom, during transitions, outdoor areas, specials, transportation, and other activities across the school day.

Salary: $30K+ based on experience in a similar position

Schedule: This is a full-time, on-site, 11-month position. Daily hours are 8:30AM-3:00PM, Monday through Friday (6.5 hours per day).

Essential Functions:

Provides individualized academic and behavioral support aligned with the student’s IEP and behavior intervention plan.
Supports the student in classroom activities, adapting or modifying materials and assignments under the direction of the teacher or service provider.
Assists the student in using coping strategies, de-escalation techniques, and sensory tools as identified in the behavior plan.
Maintains close proximity to the student throughout the day to provide supervision, redirection, and support as needed.
Monitors and documents the student’s behavior, engagement, progress on goals, and incidents throughout the day using school-approved tracking tools.
Implements therapeutic and trauma-informed strategies with consistency, including Ukeru or other approved behavior management systems.
Accompanies the student to all locations (e.g., restrooms, specials, cafeteria, hallways, transitions) to ensure safety and consistency of support.
Models and promotes appropriate social interactions, communication skills, and emotional regulation strategies
Reinforces expectations for behavior, routines, and academic engagement using positive behavior supports.
Collaborates daily with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to ensure consistency and continuity in student supports.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate’s degree or comparable college coursework required; Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities strongly preferred.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques (e.g., Ukeru or CPI) preferred.
Basic computer literacy required; ability to use documentation tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.

Compensation: $30,000.00 per year
